Episode 14 - Saison Beers

In this week’s episode we dive into Saison Beer. A traditional Summer beer brewed originally for farm hands during the late summer harvest.

Then it is on to one of our favorite Belgian Style ales, La Fin Du Monde, a classic Triple Fermented Golden Ale which does not come from Belgium but from Unibroue Brewery in Chambly, Québec. Last but certainly not least is the wonderful Delirium Nocternum, the delightful Belgian Strong Ale from the storied kettles of Brouwerij Huyghe, in Melle, Belgium!

Episode 12 - Viewer’s Recommended Brews

In this week’s episode we take some suggestions from our viewers. All of you have been recommending beers to us and we answered the call and tried some. Although some of the suggestions were seasonal and unavailable to us at the moment, we went with the appropriate beers for the summer season from the breweries suggested.

Most notable of these was the Victory Prima Pils recommended by Arkhamresident. We also sample Harpoon Summer Beer and Rogue’s American Amber Ale. Compared to last week, all of these beers were great but some left us unimpressed. Enjoy the show and enjoy some beer!

Episode 11 - Non-Alcoholic Beers

In this very “tasteless” episode, Dave and I explore the mysterious and elusive world of Non-Alcoholic beers and get burned for it. We try Sharps from Miller, Coors Non-Alcoholic, and Einbecker NA Pils, which does not live up to the flavor of its potent companion brews. However it does lend itself to a comedic session as we try these flavorless options to the the beer world.

Beer Diaries!

We’ve been thinking of starting beer diaries for a while - short, one-beer clips that happen kind of on the fly. Unscripted, slightly unprepared, but fun and still within the heart of what Two Guys On Beer stands for.

For certain reasons, we were unable to bring you a full episode of Two Guys On Beer this week, so we present to you Beer Diaries - an idea we’ve been tossing around in our heads since we started Two Guys On Beer almost 3 months ago.

We hope you enjoy!

10th Episode! - Elephants, Blackberries, and Paul Revere!

Such a well balanced brew with candied hops and a real satisfying taste. We also tackle Carlsberg’s Elephant Ale, a fantastic tasting malt brew from one of the leaders in fine beers worldwide. Our final beer of the day is Leinenkugels Berry Weiss, a surprisingly tasty beer that should have been stocked in the wine cooler aisle.

We’re Back

As some of you might have noticed TGOB was offline yesterday and today. Apparently there was a fire in our host’s datacenter and the whole place went to hell. Fear not, we are still here and will be bringing you our milestone 10th Episode Wednesday morning!

Dave and I have been overwhelmed with the response the show has been getting! We thank our viewers and the peeps at Viddler for making this the highlight of our week. I mean the beer helps, but it is the community of viewers that really make it fun.

See you all tomorrow!

Salute’

Episode 09 - Apricots, Agave, and Hens!

In this episode we have a hodgepodge of fine beers. Old Speckled Hen, brewed specifically for the 50th Anniversary of the MG Automobile. DeKoninck Belgian Ale, a nice change from the popular Belgian White’s, and Breckenridge Brewery’s Agave Wheat, a refreshing and unique Wheat beer.

Episode 08 - Recession-Proof Beers!

The economy is tight - dare I say we’re in a recession? We’ll leave that to the experts, but most people are having to tighten their belts a little. That doesn’t mean you should have to give up on beer!

We talk about three “recession-proof” beers - cheap beers that can be had for less than $1/beer, but that don’t completely lack taste or desire.

Put down that Miller Light or Bud Light and try out a couple of beers you may never have heard of (and one I can almost guarantee you have) and learn to have a beer on the cheap!

Episode 08 on the way!

We finished filming episode 08 yesterday, and I’m going to let you in on a secret - all of the beers we reviewed were in cans. That’s right - cans. So there’s a theme, that we hope you enjoy. We also just wanted to let you know that production has resumed, and we’re back on a once-a-week schedule.

Look for the episode to drop on Tuesday, May 20. See you all then!
